LAHORE: Former Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman (PCB) and renowned anchorperson Najam Sethi has stepped aside from International Cricket Council (ICC) presidency.
Najam Sethi who is the member of PCB’s executive committee and was nominated ICC president by the board now decided to step aside from the post and allow ex cricket to take the charge.
Najam Sethi made the announcement of the using his twitter account and also made a request to the board to nominate ex-Test cricketer for the post.
He tweeted, “I have decided to step aside from ICC Presidency. I request PCB to nominate a great ex Test Cricketer for this position in spirit of game.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Najam has to take charge of the post from July 1st.
Earlier ICC had passed the rule that it’s president should be an ex cricket from next year.
