KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Naeem-ur-Rehman has urged masses to realize the importance of their votes so as to bring change in the country.
Addressing a party gathering at Orangi Town, he said that people need to safeguard their votes and added that masses can get rid of terrorists and extortionists through appropriate usage of their votes.
He said that those who received overwhelmingly responses from the Orangi Town and same like areas had badly neglected the dwellers after elections.
Engr. Naeem said that time and again, it has been proved that only the honest leadership of JI is capable of resolving the problems of masses.
Talking about the acute shortage of water in the vicinity in particular and entire Karachi in general, he said that K3 and K4 projects of water distribution, being initiated by the then city Nazim Nematullah Khan, could eliminate the shortage of water. However, he added, that those the successors had put the projects on back burner.
He was of the view that completion of the K4 project in the city in the need of the hour and the only way to reduce the acute shortage of water.
The JI leader also criticized the National Database and Registration Authority for its irking behaviour towards people, particularly those residing in orangi town.
