ISLAMABAD: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has so far renewed/re-validated with five years validity around 149,825 prohibited and non-prohibited bore computerized arms licenses.
However, during tenure of present government, the Authority has renewed for five years around 105,012 arms licenses. There is no pending case in renewal category.
Official sources while highlighting procedure for renewal of arms licenses on Saturday said NADRA issues one year computerized arms license in lieu of manual license.
The manual license and record of the applicant is forward to Ministry of Interior for verification which conveys its verification to NADRA through online system.
NADRA renews verified arms licenses for further five years and applicant approaches its designated Centre along with his expired license for renewal.
The Authority issues computerized token and applicant is charged with as per prescribed fee. After processing period of three weeks, NADRA issues renewed arms license with five years validity. Applicant’s old expired license is retained for destruction.—APP
