NA unanimously adopts resolution against Indian atrocities in IHK

ISLAMABAD:  The Parliament Friday adopted a resolution unanimously against Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir urging international community to play its due role in stopping the bloodshed and for carrying out an independent investigation of human rights violations by India.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz presented the resolution during the joint session.

The resolution said that Kashmir is not an integral part of India while the allegations of neighbouring  state regarding involvement of Pakistan in Uri attack are condemnable.

It was also mentioned that Pakistan would continue to support Kashmiris politically, morally and diplomatically.It condemned the use of use of pellet guns and deliberate targeting of the protestors eyes as a result of which more than 700 peole have sustained severe eye injuries and atleast 150 have become permanently blind.

The Resolution saluted the courage and perseverance of the valiant people of the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir for continuing their heroic struggle in the face of the worst Indian state terrorist. It also expressed deep concern over the arrest and detention of the Hurriyat leadership, human right activists, journalists and political activists and urged the Indian government to release them immediately.

The resolution called upon the international community to play its due role in stopping the bloodshed in the IHK in carrying out an independent investigation of the human rights violations committed by India in the Indian occupied Kashmir and to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir to enable the people of the State to exercise their inalienable right to self determination.

The resolution reiterated that Pakistan is committed to a meaningful and result oriented dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues especially the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sartaj Aziz also said that international community accepts that Kashmir issue is disputed. He also said that Pakistan rejects ridiculous claims of India of surgical strike on Line of Control. —INP
