Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq on Friday appealed Mandi Bahauddin citizens to elect JI candidate Riaz Farooq Sahi in upcoming by-election in NA-108 constituency to be held on June 8.
The National Assembly NA-108 seat went vacating after declared disqualification of lawmaker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ijaz Chaudhry who was deposed over having fake degree and concealing its assets.
It should be mentioned here that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have a sizeable vote bank in NA-108 constituency of Mandi Bahauddin.
PPP gave ticket to Asif Basheer Bhagat and JI’s Riaz Farooq Sahi would be seen in the electoral race while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provided election ticket to formally nominated former PPP MNA Chaudhry Tariq Tarrar of Raika who had joined the party last year.
During his public address for NA-108 election campaign, Sirajul Haq also raised strong voice against genocide of Burmese Rohingya Muslims. He urged Pakistani government to echo voice against atrocities on Muslims present wherever around the world.
He slammed United Nations (UN) over criminal silence over mass killing of Muslims in Burma. He announced to organise protest in Islamabad on June 14 if no firm action taken to support Burmese Muslims.
