CAIRO: New 3D mapping of the crust has revealed a block of solid rock is moving over an active fault 10 kilometer beneath the Red Sea in Eastern Desert of Egypt. The rock acts like a tuning fork, broadcasting the noise of seismic activity.
Scientist said that six mile deep fault line is responsible for strange sounds on Egyptian coast. The strange noises like cannon shots had been listened across Abu Dabbab region in Egypt for years. Researchers said that the movement of a 10km thick block of rigid rock above the fault created a noisy environment that sends sounds pounding around the area.
