Muslim Umma needs to play role in changing global scenario: Liaqat Baloch

KARACHI: Jamaat e Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said that Muslim block of the world needs to get united and play an active role in changing global scenario.

He expressed these views while addressing the two days worker convention of JI at Bag e Jinnah Karachi.

The JI leader said that positions of countries in the global arena have been changing. The US has been rapidly loosing its position of super power, China and Pakistan have been gaining prominent positions due to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He said that Muslim block could use this opportunity to become more strong and active in global arena.

Balouch said that corruption is the major hindered for Pakistan in the path of progress and development. He said that outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) played a crucial role in this regard.

Talking about the domestic situations, he said that Pakistani nation needs to set aside negativity and negative perceptions. He termed JI an strong nucleus for people and urged JI workers to pace up their efforts and get the movement purged of negative perceptions and trends.

He said that the JI would be moving forward while taking all segments of society along with them.

The JI leader was of the view that popular slogans of so-called liberal and secular political parties have failed Pakistan. He added that the time has come for the nation to set its priorities right.

He said that the slogans to divide Sindh into urban and rural are baseless. He added that Sindh has a long lasting history and culture and the homeland cannot be divided.

He further said that 2018 elections would be game changer in the history of Pakistan if the positive forces fulfilled their obligations.

Talking about the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said that the maga project possesses enormous potential while the government seems intended to limited it to a network of roads.

The role of Pakistan in CPEC should be defined, he said.
