Former military ruler Pervez Musharraf rejected statement of US journalist Mark Siegel by claiming that opponents wanted to use the controversial statement against Pakistan.
Pervez Musharraf in his statement on Friday refuted Siegel’s statement, terming it baseless and far from reality. He claimed that slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto would not asked for provision of security from Musharraf while arriving in Pakistan if she was facing any threats from him. Musharraf said that BB requested for security measures in written letter.
He rejected for any telephonic contact with BB in 2007 and Siegel’s statement should be condemned at any platform.
It should be mentioned that American journalist Mark Siegel had said in his testimony on Thursday in anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi that slain prime minister Benazir Bhutto received threatening phone calls from the then president Pervez Musharraf, days before she travelled to Pakistan, who was warning her of threats to her life should she choose to return before the 2007 elections..
