Representatives of other departments including Legal Adviser District Administration Advocate Syed Muhammad Shah appeared in the court.

The court directed the legal adviser to work out a ToR with the Murree Hotel Association and asked them to meet the hotel association and submit a report to the court.

On the occasion, Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz said that he would hear the case daily and the court would pronounce its verdict in a week.

Counsel for the petitioner raised the question that helpers and technicians were employed instead of operators on the day of the tragedy.

The court sought a list of appointments of Highways Department staff and summoned TMA Murree and Secretary Local Government for the next hearing.

The court also sought a report on action taken against illegal constructions and encroachments after the tragedy.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till April 20.

It may be recalled that on the night of January 7, the situation was aggravated due to heavy snowfall and tourist rush in Murree, as a result of which 23 people died due to being trapped in vehicles.

After the tragedy, the tourist spot was declared a disaster and an emergency was declared.
