KARACHI: Zonal Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has announced that Muharram moon sighted and the Ashura would fall on October 24. The first month of Islamic year1437 will begin form Thursday.
Whereas provinces governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Sindh announced public holiday on Muharram 1. While Sindh Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that only educational institutions will remain close in the province on Muharram first.
