MQM’s mayor visits JI office, seeks cooperation

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Thursday visited Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi head office Idara Noor-e-Haq and vowed to work jointly for the betterment and progress of Karachi.

Speaking on the occasion, he thanked JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman for a warm welcome assurance for cooperation for the sake of Karachi.

He said that in past various political parties were pushed towards confrontation, as a result those elected by people were unable to deliver.

Akhtar further said that they had a good team and they wanted those in the corridors of power to let them deliver. He added that JI has expertise on local matters and they had worked for the city in past. We want them to come forward and work together with us for the benefit of the city and its residents.

JI Karachi chief Engr. Naeem-ur-Rehman said that Karachi more bigger than 100 countries in the world and we need to think positively. We cannot offered to live on heap of garbage and with deteriorating roads.

HE further said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have powers in the form of workforce which are their activists. He stressed the party to assemble their workers so as to change the current dismal scenario of the city.

On the occasion, he assured the mayor for complete cooperation for the sake of Karachi and its future.
