LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Saturday said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) track record suggests that the party members will take back their resignations from Parliament and Sindh Assembly.
In a statement, he hinted at the quick solution of the issue by saying that the party will take back its resignations.
“Such explosive reaction does not go well with politics”, said the JI chief.
On Wednesday, August 12, MQM’s 24 MPs in the lower house of parliament, eight senators in the upper house, as well as 51 members in the Sindh Assembly tendered their resignations in protest against ongoing targeted operation in Karachi and alleged extra-judicial killings of their party workers.
The ruling PML-N and its political ally JUI-F have started efforts to bring back MQM to the assemblies.
