KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Imran Ismail alleged that winner Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rigged 25,000 votes during by-election in NA-246 constituency.

Imran Ismail while addressing press conference in Karachi alleged that MQM has bungled 25,000 votes during NA-246 polls. He raised questions over powerlessness of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by saying, ‘If ECP fails to hold appropriate polls in single constituency than what will happen to rest of the country.’

He, however, congratulated MQM over its victory and said that whatever he did what he can do. He strongly criticised ECP over showing lack of authority before MQM despite being most powerful institution in Pakistan after the Supreme Court (SC).

He said ECP cannot hide its impairments behind technical electoral problems as no response was made following mishandling PTI workers during election campaign.

He urged for scrutiny of voter lists if Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) truely wanted to hold transparent election in the country.
