LONDON/KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement leadership strongly rejected allegations against MQM supremo Altaf Hussain and the political party.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Rabita Committees in London and Karachi conducted a joint conference to answer severe allegations levelled by dissident MQM leader and former Karachi Mayor Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaim Khani.
Altaf Hussain-led political party has large mandate and a larger party of the country, Nusrat said. He added that Pakistani media transformed an ‘unimportant matter’ into ‘major issue’ by hours long coverage of unelected personalities.
Nusrat said that the allegations were not new against MQM and termed ‘a new attempt to distribute MQM into pieces.’ Same allegations of 1992 were repeated and MQM was not panicked by the fake allegation, however, we were reacting against the ‘hype created by local media’.
He claimed that the allegations defamed Muhajirs and ‘millions’ of nationals who loved Altaf Hussain across the country. He added that Altaf Hussain has always hailed bright leadership instead of promoting his family members as not a single member of his family was present amongst the leaders attending the press conference right now.
Nusrat demanded to bring MQM into national flow as Altaf Hussain loved Pakistan, however, fake leadership and distribution of the political party were not the right solution. He claimed that MQM leaders were facing detentions and different cases in current scenario.
He appealed workers to be peaceful and rejected all allegations against Altaf Hussain. He clarified that Rabita Committees are standing side-by-side with MQM’s supremo Altaf and the political party become more stronger day-by-day.
While addressing the media conference, MQM central leader Farooq Sattar said that whole nation and workers have firm confidence on Altaf Hussain while the allegations were ‘fake, unethical and inflammatory’ and all conspiracies against the political party will be failed.
He criticised Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) for shining politics by playing blame game against MQM for 30 years. He added that the anti-MQM elements were warmly welcomed by the persons with defeated mindset.
