The press conference was presided over by MQM Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and on this occasion he said that today is a historic occasion.

Maqbool Siddiqui further said that our no-confidence motion with the joint opposition was not conditional on cooperation. I am announcing that in this change we will be with the opposition, he said.

On the occasion, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that what was said by MQM-P last night has been fulfilled to a great extent. The prime minister should resign even if he is selected as he has lost his numerical strength, he added.

PP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that the decision of MQM to separate from the government and support the joint opposition is historic. The PPP and MQM have to work together in all circumstances and in all circumstances, he said.

Bilawal said that talks with MQM are not going on from today, even in Senate election I wanted to work together in Sindh. PPP and MQM working relationship has nothing to do with the no-trust move. Long ago I wanted to work together in Sindh. Prime Minister Imran Khan has lost his majority and he should resign. The leadership of the whole nation is on one page, he said.

Bilawal further said that we will take joint steps not only for the development of Karachi but also for the development of Pakistan. MQM has decided in the interest of Karachi and the province.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), said that the entire PDM and the opposition welcome the decision of the MQM. Workers played a role in rescuing the victims, he said.
