He said that MQM Pakistan was more interested in implementing the promises made by the allies for the welfare of Karachi and other parts of the province.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that MQM Pakistan has decided not to join the federal cabinet and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been informed about this decision.

Last month, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Centre, has officially announced to leave Imran Khan-led government and join the opposition on the no-confidence motion.

At a press conference with the opposition leaders here on Thursday, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced his support to the opposition.

The press conference was presided over by MQM Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and on this occasion he said that today is a historic occasion.

Maqbool Siddiqui further said that our no-confidence motion with the joint opposition was not conditional on cooperation. I am announcing that in this change we will be with the opposition, he said.

On the occasion, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that what was said by MQM-P last night has been fulfilled to a great extent. The prime minister should resign even if he is selected as he has lost his numerical strength, he added.

PP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that the decision of MQM to separate from the government and support the joint opposition is historic. The PPP and MQM have to work together in all circumstances and in all circumstances, he said.
