MQM founder Altaf Hussain arrested in London

London: MQM founder Altaf Hussain has been arrested by Scotland Yard for investigation over charges of hate speech here on Monday morning.

Hussain has been shifted to a South London police station for investigation, Pakistani TV channels reported.

London Police issued a press release in which without naming Altaf Hussain it said that a 60-year-old man affiliated with MQM has been taken into custody for probe over making hate speeches.

London Police say Hussain had violated Section 44, 2007.

It added that the house of the arrested person is being searched.

FIA has already approached Interpol for his extradition to Pakistan.
