KARACHI: The most senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Farooq Sattar, on Thursday demanded Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to extend polling time for three hours.
The MQM leader was talking to media in a press conference along with others party leaders at the party headquarters.
They claim that voters were being harassed and declared voters’ turnout in NA-246 by-election as historic.
They of the view that despite big turnout in the constituency, voting process has been slowed down which appears to be decreasing the party’s victory margin.
Identification process by Rangers or police were resulting into slow voting adding that thousands of voters were barred and discouraged due to the identification process, the MQM leader said.
Farooq Sattar said that there were lots of polling stations where polling started almost delay of two hours.
