KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Friday decided to challenge result of by-election in Karachi’s PS-127 Malir constituency.
The Coordination Committee remarked that the party will approach court after collecting evidence of rigging in the by-polls in which Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate was declared victorious.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed result PPP’s candidate, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch got 21187 votes, while Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s candidate Waseem Ahmed bagged 15553 votes.
The seat had fallen vacant due to resignation of MQM’s Member of the Sindh Assembly Ashfaque Mangi. —INP
