LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supremo Altaf Hussain has reached central London police station as his bail in money laundering case expires today (Tuesday).
As the MQM chief reached the police station, he avoided talking to media persons.
The MQM sources said that he will again appeal for extension in bail.
The MQM chief is accompanied by his legal team and senior party leaders including Farooq Sattar and Babar Ghauri.
MQM’s Rabita committee and central executive committee have called an urgent meeting to discuss the prevailing situation as the MQM chief heads to London police station.
The MQM spokesperson said that as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of money laundering, the Founder and Leader of the Muttahida Quami Movement, Mr Altaf Hussain, was bailed to return to a central London Police Station today.
Mr Hussain was arrested In June 2014 on suspicion of money-laundering during a raid at his residence in northwest London.
The other six persons who were arrested in the case are also on bail.
On April 1, senior MQM leader Mohammed Anwar was also arrested at his home in north London in connection with the money laundering case. He was released on bail after ten hours of custody.
MQM denies any involvement in money laundering.
