KARACHI: Vote counting has been started by presiding officers in presence of law enforcement agency Rangers’ officials after polling ended in NA-246 by-election at 5:00pm amid tight security measures.
Unofficial results stated visible lead of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) candidate Kanwar Naveed Jameel with 41,218 votes followed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Imran Ismail and Rashid Naseem of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) respectively.
Initial and unofficial results revealed MQM’s Kanwar Naveed Jameel edged amongst the top three candidates of the by-election in NA-246 constituency of Karachi, the metropolis of Pakistan.
PTI’s Imran Ismail managed to get 12,306 votes while 5090 votes were gained by JI’s Rashid Naseem in accordance to the unofficial results extracted from 100 out of 213 polling stations.
