ISLAMABAD: Chairman Move On Pakistan party Mian Kamran was arrested on Wednesday from Islamabad over charges of spreading anarchy and defaming the institution of Army.
According to the party sources, the chairman was taken into custody from Islamabad’s Aabpara area. He was hiding in a guest house, added the sources.
The Move On party has been recently involved in putting up thousands of banners in several cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi and Hyderabad seeking the army chief’s intervention.
The banners asking for an army coup appeared all over the country shortly after the Chairman US Senate’s Armed Services Committee, Senator John McCain, had said that he was deeply impressed by Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s leadership skills.
