Mourning day over Naltar Tragedy, flag at half-mast

ISLAMABAD: Day of mourning is being observed in the country over Naltar tragedy which killed seven people including Norwegian, Philippine’s ambassadors, wives of Indonesian and Malaysian ambassadors.

On the occasion Pakistani flag is at half mast at all government buildings in and outside the country in Pakistani embassies and foreign  missions abroad.

All the bodies were shifted to Nour Khan air base from Gilgit, where they  have been given a guard of honor before the formal sendoff . The PM Sharif said the tragic crash has saddened the entire nation. The national flag will be taken down to half mast at all government buildings today.

All three services chief and chairman joint chief of staff committee were present at the occasion besides PM special assistant on foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced day of mourning over sad incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that on Friday an army M-17 helicopter had fallen in Naltar valley.

Ambassador of Philippines Domingo D Lucenario Jr, Ambassador of Norway Leif Larsen and the wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors were among seven people killed in a helicopter crash.
