HARYANA: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) miscreants attacked an under construction mosque in Atali village in Ballabhgarh in Haryana.
More than 500 Muslim men, women and children have been taking refuge at Faridabad’s Balabgarh police station since Monday evening after being forced to flee from their homes in Attari village of the district in midst of violent attacks. The attacks were allegedly carried out by the majority Jat community following a dispute over the construction of a mosque.
The village has a population of about 10,000 of which about 550 are Muslim.
The situation was brought under control by 1,500 armed police officials, nearly four hours after it had started. Muslim villagers were escorted out of the area in police vehicles and taken to a police station 15km away.
Deputy commissioner of police Vijay Partab said that 20 people have been identified as the main perpetrators of the violence but no arrests were made till late evening on Tuesday as all of the men have been absconding.
When police brought 150 affected persons to rehabilitate in the village, there was nothing left out. More than 18 persons were seriously injured, two of them are struggling for their life.
Maulana Syed Mahmood Madani, General Secretary of Jamiatul Ulema sent Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasimi, Secretary of the organization. He saw to it that FIR is registered in police. He also met Police Commissioner and other High Police Officials to impress upon them to restore Law and Order.
Maulana Mahmood Madani spoke to CM of Haryana and asked him to arrest the miscreants. The organization arranged food for the victims. Maulana Madani met police commissioner Mr. Subhash Yadav, TC Sharma, MP and MC Sharma.
Police Commissioner assured that the miscreants will be arrested soon. Govt. should take serious action against the miscreants.
Meanwhile, the villagers spent their second day inside the police station complex after a makeshift tent was put in place for them by authorities.
