LAHORE: Jamaat e Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq said that the peace in South Asia was facing serious threats in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the Pakistani community in Bradford, Nelson and Burley during his tour to UK, he said that the extremism and anti-Muslim attitude of Modi had disturbed the peace in the region. Modi was an agitator who had made life miserable for Indian and Kashmiri Muslims. Modi was the killer of thousands of Muslims and the Pak-India talks had been sabotaged due to his stubbornness.  He said that the Muslims would chase Modi in the US, Europe and other parts of the world and expose his real face.

Sirajul Haq said that Kashmir issue was legacy of the British rulers and had been persisting for the last sixty years. As such, it was the responsibility of Britain to play its role in resolving the issue according to the Kashmiris sentiments.

He said the Muslims were the target of extremism and terrorism all over the world. They were being killed like fodder. According to the UN report, out of nearly seven lakh refugees all over the world, 70 per cent were Muslims. Yet, ironically, they were being blamed for extremism and terrorism. War had been thrust on the Muslims and their houses and habitations were being demolished. Yet the blame was also put on them.

He said the world would have to change its hypocritical attitude and abandon its anti Muslim approach.

The JIP chief said that Islam was the religion of peace and love and The Muslims were not anti-Peace.  instead, they wanted peace and had been offering maximum sacrifices for peace and humanity.

Sirajul Haq said that the JIP wanted an end to corruption, tyranny and crime in the country. It was  striving for the rights of the masses . He said the performance of the government departments was deplorable and the police and administration saluted the corrupt elite and oppressed the poor. The JI wanted to end this  culture of tyranny, he added. He said recently, a scandal of child abuse was unearthed in Kasur but the police and the administration were still siding with the perpetrators of the crime.
