Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on being elected as the prime minister of Pakistan.

The Indian prime minister has congratulated the newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the social networking website X, formerly known as twitter.

Earlier, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and the Iranian president also congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as prime minister.

Yesterday, PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif had taken oath as 24th prime minister of Pakistan.

President Dr Arif Alvi administered oath to Shehbaz Sharif of the office of prime minister.

In this connection, the oath taking ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, which was attended by Army Chief Gen Asim Munir, foreign diplomats, high ranking civil and military officials, chief ministers of all four provinces, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, PPP Co-chairman Asif Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and others.
