LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Saturday demanded formation of a joint investigation team (JIT), similar the one constituted in the Panama case.
The PAT chief stated this while addressing a joint presser alongside Pak Sarzameen Party leader Mustafa Kamal here.
Qadri said that the Model Town inquiry report had unveiled the killers.
Endorsing the PAT chief’s demand, Kamal urged the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah to step down
The former Karachi mayor said that he had been with the victims of the Model Town tragedy since the day one.
The biggest cruel is the one who kept silence over brutality, he added.
Kamal said that if incidents like Model Town were continued to happen then no one would be safe in the country.
Earlier, addressing a joint presser after a meeting, Pakistan People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri on Thursday urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to step down following the Model Town inquiry report.
Qadri further said that the Justice Baqir Najafi report had held Shahbaz Sharif responsible for the Model Town tragedy, adding that Rana Sanaullah, the then law minister, was in charge of the plot.
