ISLAMABAD: Mishaal Malik, a victim of India brutalities and wife of illegally detained Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammad Yasin Malik, and Senator A. Rehman Malik have strongly condemned Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.

Addressing a joint press conference here on Monday, Rehman Malik said the family of Mohammad Yasin Malik is suffering since last two years as he is in the unlawful detention of Indian forces and his family is denied the right to meet him in jail. He said that he is amazed that how the United Nations is tight-lipped on the killing of innocent Kashmiris and violations of human rights violations in Indian held Kashmir.

Expressing disappointment on the silence of international community, human rights organizations and United Nations, Senator A. Rehman Malik asked that why they all were silent spectators of the terrible brutalities taking place in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

He had already written to the General Secretary UNO and UN Human Rights Commissioner diverting their attentions towards the brutalities by Indian Forces in Kashmir and today he is sending another letter in the name of U.N Human Rights Commissioner on the arrest of Mohammad Yasin Malik, said Senator A. Rehman Malik.

In his letter Senator A. Rehman Malik has written to UN Human Rights Commissioner that the brutal suppression and denial, by the Indian Government, in granting basic Human Rights, which flow out of United Nations Security Council Resolutions, is now robbing the children of their future and rights.

Senator A. Rehman Malik writes to the UNHRC that “Mohammad Yasin Malik, who is a political activist, and heads the political JKLF(Y) group, was taken into custody by Indian Military at Indian Administered Kashmir, on 09-Jul-2016 and remains under interrogation since.  He writes that Yasin Malik has been shifted to the notorious Humhuma Joint Interrogation Center in Indian Administered Kashmir, where he is being inflicted with inhuman torture and solitary confinement, without access to basic medical care.  He is a chronic patient of kidney disease and has a metallic valve in his heart.  The rigors of interrogation have led to his alarming loss of 15-kg weight and deterioration of his health to dangerous levels.  According to information received from Indian Administered Kashmir, the Indian Army took him to a Hospital, where the Army was informed of the serious health condition of Yasin Malik and recommended his immediate admission in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for necessary basic care.  The Indian Army denied this basic right and returned him back to the Joint Interrogation Center. Excellency, I urge you to intervene justly, and to persuade Indian Government in allowing his family to visit Mr. Mohammad Yasin Malik, and to provide him the basic health facilities at the earliest, lest his life is lost due to insensitivity and highhandedness of the Indian Army in Kashmir.”

Senator A. Rehman Malik said, “Yasin Malik’s three years old daughter Raziya Sultana and wife Mishaal Malik (who are present here) have not seen Mohammad Yasin Malik for past two years and they do not know in what condition he is”, added that it is heartbreaking that a three years old daughter is deprived of the love of her father who continuously sees her father footage at her mother mobile.

He said that Indian Government has denied issuing visas to them which is the violation of basic rights. He said that he appeals the UN Human Rights Commissioner to intervene and send a team to enquire about M. Yasim Malik’s health that he could be shifted to any country for proper medical treatment.

Earlier, Mishaal Malik called on Senator A. Rehman Malik, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, at his residence in Islamabad on Monday.

She was accompanied by her three years daughter Raziya Sultana and her mother. Both discussed in detail the gross human rights violations taking place in Indian held Kashmir and about the arrest of Mohammad Yasin Malik by Indian Forces.

Mishaal Malik thanked Senator A. Rehman Malik for his and his party support and applauded him for his bold and brave stance on the issue of Kashmir and said that she has found him always speaking for the rights of Kashmiri people.
