KARACHI: Minorities in Pakistan have strictly condemned extreme Indian brutalities in Indian occupied Kashmir at a conference, held here on Tuesday.
The conference entitled “All Pakistan Minorities’ Parties and Churches conference” was held by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Minority Wing at JI headquarters. A large number of people, belonging to various religious minorities participated in the conference.
JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman in his presidential address, said that Indian forces have been committing crimes against humanity in Kashmir.
He said that consecutive ruling regimes in India have not even spared minorities in their own home. Minorities in India are subjected to inhuman behavior. Acute unrest is not only prevailing among Christians in India but Dalat and Sikhs are also sick of the state policies, he said. The JI leader said that individuals have joined hands, irrespective of their faiths, cast, creed and color, to highlight the Indian brutalities in Jammu and Kashmir.
He recalled that India herself had approached the United Council in regard to Kashmir and had promised to act according to the resolution of the United Nations but later refused to keep her words.
He strictly criticized the government for limiting to lip services only. He asked the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to shun his monitory benefits and personal relations with Indian rulers and pursue the national interest.
He also lambasted the institution of United Nations and global community for what he called their dual standards when it comes to the people of Kashmir.
Engr. Naeem said that Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan and vowed that the occupied Kashmir would be freed at any cost. He said that all the rivers of Pakistan come from Kashmir and people on both sides of the line of control keep as unbreakable bond.
Talking about the domestic situations, he said that the country has been facing terrorism because National Action Plan is not being implemented in letter and spirit. He strictly condemned the Quetta carnage.
He welcomed the judicial verdict on liqueur shops and said that a few elements with in Muslims have been opposing the decision as they are use to consume liqueur which is quite illegal. He warned those opposing the decision to keep in mind their hereafter where they will have to answer for their deeds.
The JI leader said that they would not let this happen in the pretext of minorities.
Earlier, Younus Sohan Advocate in his address said that global silence on Indian brutalities against Kashmiries is deplorable. He said that minorities in Pakistan have decided to raise their voice for Kashmiries.
Priest Younus, Pervaiz Bhatti, Priest David Ghulam, Paul Chabarya of Hindu community, Raja Asirmal Manglani, Priest Anthani Johnson, Salamat Khukhar and Naeem Khokhar also addressed the conference.
They said that minorities are united against state sponsored terrorism in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
