The Federal Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Security has announced the minimum Nisab for Zakat for the year 2025.
According to a letter sent by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Security to the banks, if you have Rs179,689 or more in your account on the 1st of Ramazan, Xakat will be deducted.
According to the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Security, Zakat will be applicable on savings accounts, profit and loss and such accounts. Zakat will not be deducted from current accounts.
According to the Zakat and Usher Ordinance 1980, accounts with a balance of less than Rs179,689 on the 1st of Ramazan will be exempted from Zakat deduction and Zakat will not be deducted from them.
