KARACHI: Milk prices in Karachi are likely to increase by Rs20 per litre.

Dairy farmers in Karachi have announced an increase of Rs20 in the price of milk from next Sunday (Sept5).

According to sources, a meeting of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association (DCFA) was held.

The meeting considered the rising cost of production of milk. It was informed in the meeting that despite the increase in prices of commodities and other expenses due to genocide of animals in the country, the Commissioner Karachi had not issued notification regarding hike in milk price.

The meeting unanimously decided to increase the price of milk on its own, on which President Cattle Colony Circle Gul Hassan Sethar has constituted an action committee of dairy farmers.

It was decided in the meeting that the committee would take all the stakeholders into confidence and after the opinion of all, an increase of Rs20 per liter in the price of milk would be announced on September 5.
