Militants attack on PAF base was a failure: Mushtaq Ghani

PESHAWAR: Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ghani said today’s attack by militants was a failure as their attempt to reach to base camp was foiled effectively.

Talking to media he said operation cleanup is still underway, cordoned off area will soon be cleared.

There are reports that all of the terrorists have been killed but still the search and clear operation underway.

Ghani said there are always threat alerts and the Badhaber area is too close to FATA.

It is pertinent to mention here that, at least seven militants stormed a heavily-guarded Pakistan Air Force base in Badhaber area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) conforming the attack said six terrorists had been killed so far by the forces while two PAF personnal embraced martyrdom.

Militants attacked a guard room in Friday’s wee hours. Quick reaction force reached the site, surrounded and isolated them, DG ISPR Asim Bajwa tweeted.”
