Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday said that the media workers would be included in the PM’s relief package announced for industrial workers.
She stated this while addressing a press conference here.
We are considering the media as an industry. We have included this in the PM’s relief package announced for the industrial workers, Dr Ashiq Awan added.
She also announced that all the press clubs in the country would be disinfected to prevent them from becoming hotspots of coronavirus.
Ashiq Awan added that the government would provide the personal protection equipment (PPE) to the journalists from 25 television channels.
She said that the all the provincial governments had been asked to ensure if journalists are being provided sufficient protection against the deadly virus
