The attackers of May 9 are now targeting the Pakistan’s national interest today, says the country’s information minister.
“Whoever speaks against the national interest is an enemy of Pakistan,” Attaullah Tarar told media today. Prioritizing such political interest and ego over national interest is condemnable and regrettable. PTI first made a statement against the country’s interest, then distanced itself, taking a U-turn, which is an old practice of the party, the minister said.
Tarar said that the PTI founder is facing corruption cases. Pakistan’s enemies are not digesting the fact that investment is coming to the country. The attackers of May 9 are targeting the national interest today. Prioritizing such political interest and ego over national interest is condemnable and regrettable, the federal information minister said.
I wish they could talk in the interest of the country, Tarar said and added that making anti-state remarks for the sake of political opposition is an inappropriate.
He added: “You may criticize us but criticism on Pakistan is intolerable.”
He said that the friendly countries are extending the hand of friendship and support for investment and cooperation. We will strengthen ties with our friendly countries, the information minister concluded.
Meanwhile, the government has said that the PTI had issued a statement through Sher Afzal Marwat against Saudi Arabia.
A spokesperson for the government on legal matters said that the PTI has distanced itself from Sher Afzal Marwat’s statement after a nefarious attempt to involve Saudi Arabia in an alleged regime change.
Barrister Aqeel Malik said that the party had issued the controversial statement through Sher Afzal Marwat.
