May 12 tragedy: APC at Idara-e-Noor Haq declare it ‘Blackest Day’ of Pakistan

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General Liaquat Baloch termed May-12, a blackest day of the country’s history in which 60 innocent people were killed by the terrorist outfit; saying it a “national tragedy”.

He expressed these views while addressing an All Parties Conference with the theme “The ongoing terrorism in Karachi from May-12 incident to Baldia factory inferno” How the peace would be restored in Karachi?

Addressing the conference, Liaquat Baloch said that the MQM workers were enjoyed the full support of LEAs on May-12 in their criminal activities.

On the occasion, JI Secretary General asserted that targeted operation against criminals should be continued without any discrimination for restoration of lasting peace in Karachi.

“United efforts should be needed to uproot terrorism activities from country, particularly from Karachi”, he added.

Liaquat Baloch demanded impartial inquiry of all terrorism incidents including May-12, April-9, Baldia factory inferno and others; adding that the authorities concerned should dismiss the Sindh Governor immediately and appoint impartial Governor in Sindh province.

On the occasion, he urged the civil, military establishment and government to adopt neutral strategy in the larger interest of Pakistan and launch effective operation against the agents of RAW, Mused and KGB.

He said that the killers of Dr Imran Farooq will get the same treatment as the killer of Shahid Hamid, former CEO KESC had got.

Liaquat Baloch said that the Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to raise its voice for the due rights of the people of Karachi.

On the occasion, the participants unanimously approved a resolution which demanded sacking of Sindh Governor, judicial inquiry into the tragedy of May-12, April-9, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, Baldia factory inferno and others; targeted operation against the criminal elements in Karachi.

Younus Barai, Iqbal Aqeel Advocate, Younus Sohan, Raffat Awan, Mufti Hammadullah Madani, Siddiq Rathore, Aqeel Anjum Qadri, Hafiz Amjad Hazarvi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Naeem Qureshi, Aslam Khan Ghauri, Irfan Marwat and others were also present on the occasion.

PML leader Irfanullah Marwat said that the plan of May-12 was prepared at Nine Zero and Sindh Governor House; adding that the PPP, PML-N and PTI are responsible for damaging the country by patronizing the terrorists.

On the occasion, he demanded suo-motto notice into May-12 mayhem adding that the accused involved into the incident should bring into the court of law.

Aslam Ghauri said that the targeted operation should be conducted till the end of last criminal regardless of any cast, colour and creed. He demanded inclusion of Pervez Musharraf name into the FIR of May-12.

Naeem Qureshi, President Karachi Bar Council said that the Ulema should unite to eliminate external forces and its allies from the country.

He thanked the JI leadership to organize such type of programme to commemorate the sacrifices of May-12 martyrs.

JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem said that more than 60 people were lost their lives in May-12 tragedy; adding that all political and religious parties should come at same page for bringing peace in country.

On the occasion, he demanded proper investigation and inquiry from Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad after his dismissal and said that the MQM has introduced gunny-bag bodies, targeted killing and extortion culture in Karachi.

Aslam Khan Ghauri said that the dictators and political parties are responsible for producing anarchy in the country adding that the people should support religious parties for restoration of lasting peace in Karachi.

Siddiq Rathore demanded to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo-moto notice into May-12 incident.

Aqeel Anjum urged the people to come forward and play their role towards restoration of peace in Karachi. Mufti Hammadullah Madani demanded supremacy of Islamic laws in the country.

Raffat Awan termed May-12, a blackest day in the history of country and appealed the government to reopen the case as per merit.

Earlier, a documentary in connection with the May-12 incident was also displayed to the participants.
