ALASKA: An earthquake measuring 8.2 on the Ricther scale hit Alaska, prompting the authorities to issue tsunami warnings for several areas of the state.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the tremors were located 91 kilometres east southeast of Perryville. Eight aftershocks of the earthquake were also recorded.

The USGS issued tsunami warnings for southern parts of Alaska and coastal areas of Atlantic Ocean. However, no casualty had been reported so far.
The governor of Alaska taking to Twitter said that the state’s emergency operation centre had immediately started relief operation.
