KARACHI: US journalist Mark Siegel on Monday confirmed that he would be available for interrogation and to record a statement in Benazir Bhutto assassination case in the first week of November.

He had earlier refused to show up in person for interrogation and expressed willingness to record a statement via a video conference.

Prosecutor and lawyer for the accused will interrogate him for his statement. Anti-Terrorism Court, in last hearing, had demanded report from foreign ministry for interrogation in this regard.

The ministry has submitted report in the court and told that Siegel had informed about his availability.

Seigel, a close friend and confidante of the late prime minister and an important prosecution witness, earlier cited security reasons for his refusal to appear in person to record a statement against former military ruler Pervez Musharaf in the Benazir assassination case.
