Man trying to sell infant arrested in UK

MANCHESTER: A man trying to sell three-month-old baby in a pram was detained by the police in Manchester’s busy Barton Arcade in the Deansgate area of the city centre.

The shopper told the officered that he was offered to buy a baby by the man at about 2:30pm on Sunday.

Three incidents were reported to police, with one saying they had been asked for thousands of pounds in cash for the tot.

Dozens of PCSOs rushed to the area while public transport operators were also told to keep a lookout for the suspect.

They have since arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of child neglect. He is currently in custody.

Officers said the baby girl who was allegedly offered for sale is safe and well.
