KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has declared bankruptcy and its new chief has planned to cut about 6000 jobs.
The Chief Ececutive Christiph Mueller said that they were technically bankrupt. The airline said that it had offered jobs to 14,000 of its 20,000 workforce. He said that the decline of performance started long before the tragic events of 2014.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared with 239 passengers and crew in March last year.. The plane is still missing. Another Malaysian flight MH17 was shot down by a suspected ground-to-air missile while in Ukrainian airspace. 298 people were killed in the incident.
