Magnitude 5.7 quake hits Chinese city Mudanjiang

A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.7 has jolted Mudanjiang in China’s Heilongjiang province on Saturday.

These secondary shockwaves are usually less violent than the main quake but can be strong enough to do additional damage to weakened structures and can occur in the first hours, days, weeks, or even months after the quake.

The quake hit the city at 04:22:19.70 UTC where people came out of their houses in panic.
