London Mayor Sir Sadiq says his father was a bus driver

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who recently received the title of Sir, has said that he feels very humbled to receive this title as this honour belongs to the entire hardworking community.

Yesterday, Britain’s King Charles handed knighthood to Sadiq Khan for his services to the people of London.

Sadiq Khan was elected the Mayor of London for the third time in a row this year. After receiving the knighthood, “Sir” will be written before Sadiq Khan’s name.

Giving the first exclusive interview to a Pakistani TV, after receiving the title of Sir, the London mayor said that this honour belongs to the entire hardworking community, adding my parents came here from Pakistan and worked hard.

He further said that his father got a job as a bus driver and mother used to sew clothes. He said that hard work is rewarded in this country.

Sir Sadiq said that his mother was very emotional on receiving the award and we were all missing father. Children are joking that you are not the Sir at the house but only our father. My success is the result of team work, this award is also for the whole team, he added.

The London mayor said that he has very good relations with the King and the British prime minister is also his friend.
