The Mother Mosque of America, once known as The Rose of Fraternity Lodge and also known as Moslem Temple, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States, is the longest standing mosque in North America. Built in 1934, it is the second oldest after the mosque built in tiny Ross, North Dakota, which was built in 1929.

Islamic-Center-of-Washington

The Islamic Center of Washington is a mosque and Islamic cultural center in Washington, D.C.. It is located on Embassy Row on Massachusetts Avenue just east of the bridge over Rock Creek. When it opened in 1957, it was the largest mosque in the Western Hemisphere.

Islamic-Center-of-America

The Islamic Center of America is a mosque located in Dearborn, Michigan. Although the institution dates back to 1963, currently the new location of the mosque on Ford Road in Dearborn opened in 2005.

It is the largest mosque in North America and the oldest Shia mosque in the United States. With its large Shia Arab population (consisting mostly of Lebanese), Dearborn is often called the “heart of Shiism” in the United States.

Al-Sadiq-Mosque

The Al Sadiq Mosque (Wabash Mosque) was commissioned in 1922 in the Bronzeville neighborhood in city of Chicago. The Al-Sadiq Mosque, one of America’s earliest built Mosque’s and the oldest standing Mosque in America today. This mosque was funded with the money predominantly donated by African-American Ahmadi Muslim converts.

The Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center is an open mosque in Northern Virginia. It is located in the Seven Corners area of unincorporated Fairfax County, Virginia in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

The Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) is a mosque and cultural center for Muslims in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The ISB offers daily, weekly and annual programs for Muslims including Arabic and English classes on religious and secular topics as well as a religious school for children and holiday programs.

Mosque-Maryam

Mosque Maryam (Temple #2) in Chicago, Illinois, United States, is the headquarters of the Nation of Islam. It is at 7351 South Stony Island Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood. Louis Farrakhan’s headquarters are in the premises. The building was originally the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church before it relocated to suburban Palos Hills. Elijah Muhammad purchased the building in 1972 and the mosque was then repurchased by Louis Farrakhan 16 years later, in 1988. It was named after Mary, the mother of Jesus (“Maryam” is Arabic for Mary).

Masjid-As-Sabur

Masjid As-Sabur (As-Sabur Mosque) is the oldest Masjid and the pioneering Muslim community organization in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The history of the mosque dates back to the early 1970s tracing its roots to the Nation of Islam. In 1975 Masjid As-Sabur, then named Masjid Muhammad, made the transition to the mainstream Islam under the national leadership of Imam Warith Deen Muhammad.

The physical and administrative precincts of Masjid As-Sabur consist of the Mosque, Fajr al-Islam School, a community health clinic and a number of committees such as Al-Ma’un (Neighborly Needs). The Masjid has established itself as a leading Islamic institution and community outreach center in the state of Nevada.

Among notable attendees of the mosque have been former heavyweight boxing champions Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, as well as Laila Ali (daughter of the boxer, Muhammad Ali).

Islamic-Foundation-of-Greater-St.-LouisThe Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis(IFGSTL) is an organization containing two Masjids. The first, Masjid Bilal(West Pine Masjid) is located in downtown St. Louis, at 3843 W Pine Blvd, next to the campus of Saint Louis University. The second and larger one, Daar-Ul-Islam is a mosque located in Ballwin, Missouri at 517 Weidman Road.

Islamic-Center-of-Greater-Austin

The Islamic Center of Greater Austin is a mosque in Austin, Texas in the United States.

The Center was established in March 1977 as a non-profit religious organization registered with the State of Texas and is affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), which is a subsidiary of ISNA, as its trustee. The center’s property is waqf under NAIT.

The Islamic Society of Central New York is a “purpose-built” Sunni mosque and Islamic community center located on Comstock Avenue in Syracuse, NY. Founded in 1981, the center serves the needs of Central New York’s estimated 15,000 – 20,000 Muslims providing various services and outreach programs for the Muslim and non-Muslim community.

It also runs an Islamic cemetery and the Madrasat Al Ihsan/School of Excellence[2] (founded in 1993) on West Onondaga Street. The mosque is served by a full-time Imam and is administered by an elected Shura Council.

Islamic-Center-of-Connecticut

The Islamic Center of Connecticut is mosque located in Windsor, Connecticut serving the Muslim community of Hartford County.

Its Enfield cemetery is believed to be the only Islamic cemetery–meant for only Muslims–in New England. (However, there have been separate Muslim burial plots associated with other cemeteries previously, including in Worcester, Massachusetts and Biddeford, Maine.

Masjid Hamza is an Islamic center located at 200 Stuart Avenue, Valley Stream, New York. It has a K-12 school system called “Hamza Academy.” It is currently the only masjid in Valley Stream. The masjid is 15 minutes away from John F. Kennedy International Airport and serves about 1,400 families.
