KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaquat Baloch termed the recent statement of federal Minister for Information & Broadcast Pervez Rashid against the religious seminaries “a religious terrorism”; adding that the entire nation from Karachi to Khyber is protesting against the irresponsible statement of federal minister.
He expressed these views while addressing an annual ceremony of ‘Khatam-e-Bukhari’ held at Jamia Hanifia, Malir.
Addressing the ceremony, Liaquat Baloch questioned the authorities concerned of the federal government that they should inform the nation that the Saulat Mirza and those 8000 terrorists who got immunity through NRO were belonged to which religious seminary adding that students and Ulema of religious seminaries will defend their religious identity at all cost.
Baloch further said that the agents of RAW are active in country and targeting innocent people including professors, doctors and lawyers.
JI Sindh Ameer Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui while addressing the ceremony said that the students of religious seminaries are the upfront regime of Islamic revolution and playing their due role in spreading Islamic teachings in the society.
He further said that the country would bring on the way of development and progress by imposing the Islamic laws in Parliament, judiciary and socio-economic affairs.
Maulana Abdul Maalik said that the religious seminaries are striving hard to spread Islamic laws in the country and reflect those as illiteracy was extremely condemnable.
JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the federal minister for Information Pervez Rashid should present any evidence if any relating to the involvement of religious seminaries and its students into the act of terrorism before court.
He further said that the federal minister just for the sake of pleasing the external forces was deliberating such kind of statements.
