Liaquat Baloch addresses joint gathering of Shabab-e-Milli, IJT, PU students

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaquat Baloch said that the country needed a policy and a system that attached top priority to the youth and ensured them education, games and sports besides jobs. He was addressing a joint gathering of Shabab e Milli, the Islami Jamiat e Talaba and the Punjab University students in the city on Friday.

Liaquat Baloch said that the youth were the invaluable and real asset of the country as Allah had blessed the country with abundant manpower especially youth. However, he said, that the country was in the grip of a corrupt elite that was controlling the parliament and state institutions.

He said that corruption and incompetence of the ruling junta was creating feelings of revolt among the youth and it was high time that the rulers mended their ways and adopted correct policies.

Addressing an Iftar Dinner hosted by the Islamic Lawyers Movement, he stressed upon the lawyers community, intellectuals, the civil society and political forces to launch a country wide movement for the enforcement of Urdu as national language, an effective system of accountability and for the electoral reforms. He said that the JI would act as vanguard in the movement.
