LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami (JI), Liaqat Baloch, has condemned the detentions and uncalled for arrests of Hurriyat Conference leaders by India.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he said that India talked of talks with Pakistan only to deceive the world community and was not ready to discuss the core issue of Kashmir.

He counseled the Pakistan government to review its policy keeping in views New Delhi’s attitude and said  that Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz should not visit India as it would be totally unproductive.

Liaqat Baloch said that the India- Pakistan talks so far had not yielded any result only because of New Delhi’s stubbornness. He said that India would have to abandon duplicity and allow the Hurriyat Conference leaders to proceed to New Delhi.  India’s decision not to allow the Hurriat Conference leaders to meet Sartaj Aziz was ample proof of her inflexibility, he added.

Liaqat Baloch said that India was Pakistan’s sworn enemy and had never missed any chance of harming the independence and sovereignty of this country. He also slated India’s unprovoked and frequent firing at the Line of Control in violation of the international law.
