Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, on Tuesday paid visit to Ary News office in Karachi where he met the channel’s bureau chief S. M. Shakeel.
During the meeting, Liaqat Baloch expressed deep sorrow over attack on the channel’s building by outrageous crowd and show solidarity with the journalists.
The JI Secretary General also visited Samaa TV office where he met executive director Khurram Bari. Liaqat Baloch was accompanied by JI Sindh chief Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui, JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, JI Naib Ameer Osama Razi, secretary information Zahid Askari, Suhaib Ahmed, JI Sindh deputy secretary Azeem Baloch and others.
During his meeting, Liaqat Baloch said Karachi is “Mini Pakistan” where different communities are living together. Whole nation has witnessed crisis in the metropolis against media houses and torture on journalists, he added. Baloch clarified that Karachi cannot tolerate such incidents in future.
Baloch said a patriotic citizen cannot even think against independence, sovereignty and its integrity. He strongly condemned anti-Pakistan slogans. He also criticised attacks on media houses as it was an immoral and undemocratic move to forcedly get media coverage by spreading violence.
