Acting chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Liaqat Baloch, urged the federal government not to make China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project ‘controversial’ by unfulfilling promises made for implementation of plan finalised by national consensus.
Liaquat Baloch reminded that unserious attitude of federal government and imposition of martial law during General Zia-ul-Haq late had turned Kalabagh Dam project ‘controversial’ when they failed to remove concerns of the provinces.
JI acting chief made the statement during a telephonic conversation with JI KP chapter chief Mushtaq Ahmed Khan. He demanded the government to secure rights of nationals residing in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. He also demanded the government to gain confidence of the parliament and national leadership.
He said that China is proven ally neighbouring country of Pakistan and whole nation has proud over the Pakistan-China friendship. He urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to avoid solo flight over sensitive matters including Kashmir, international scenario, parliament and national leadership.
Baloch said that JI lodged successful sit-in outside building of Governor KP House in Peshawar in order to ensure CPEC a transparent project through complete national consensus. He urged PM to make rapid moves instead of making delay over sensitive national issues.
