Liaqat Baloch condemns raids at mosques, madrassahs

LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami and the Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC), Liaqat Baloch, has strongly condemned the police and security forces raids at mosques and madrissahs and harassment of madrissah teachers, management and students.

In a statement here, he said that the procedure adopted by the police to secure data of religious madrissahs was improper and insulting . He said that all the madrissahs in the country were registered and associated with their respective Wifaqs which possessed all the record.

He wondered which were the forces the government wanted to please through such raids, and added that it was the secular lobby and the Indian agents and intruders who were harming the country and in all respects.

The JI leader said that the real culprits behind terrorism had already been traced and should not be detracted. The madrissahs and mosques, he said, were the protectors of the country’s ideology and they should not be defamed.
