LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has banned the speeches of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and has summoned his nationality record.
The hearing was conducted on four petitions submitted in the court.
One of the petitioner Rana Afzal adopted the stance that MQM Chief gave statements against the country and Pakistan Army which is synonymous to enmity with the state.
The petition also stated that federal government, foreign ministry and information ministry did not took any notice of his statements therefore; the court should order to take action against Altaf Hussain.
The full member bench included Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sindhu and Justice Irum Sajjad.
