KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Secretary General Liaquat Balouch has said that the upcoming local government (LG) elections would be the beginning of a new chapter for Karachi, that would bring better future, hopes and change for the city.
JI SC Liaquat Balouch says JI would resolve the civic issues and serve masses with honesty and would bring back the reputation of Karachi as city of lights.
He was addressing to a LG convention at Gadap Town as the JI launched its local bodies election campaign in Karachi on Sunday.
The JI leader said that the JI would resolve the civic issues and serve masses with honesty and would bring back the reputation of Karachi as city of lights.
He hoped that the convention would be the commencement of a change in fate of the city as well as the area. He vowed that the JI would play an effective role for the betterment of masses.
Baloch expressed his sorrow that 80 percent schools of the area are practically shut.He claimed that the JI would make sure that each and every government schools in the area be functional and serve masses.
He was of the view that people’ money or taxes should be spent on people with honesty and transparency, which according to him, was the only way of progress and prosperity for a nation.
JI leader Asadullah Bhutto said that masses have now recognized the looters and the overwhelming turnout of masses in the JI’s convention is evident that people want an honest leadership for the city.
Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, JI Karachi chief, said in his address pleaded the area residents to recognize their power and support the JI which is already in the forefront of an struggle to eliminate injustice, discrimination and corruption.
On the occasion, JI leaders were welcomed by the local residents with traditional zeal and fervor. They were presented with Ajkrak and other gifts.
